10 honoured at Independence Ceremonial Parade

The Honours Committee subsequent to approvals by the Prime Minister and the
Governor General have honoured 10 men and women for their contributions to nation
building with national awards at the 2017 Independence Ceremonial Parade yesterday.

Knighthood was awarded to Sir John St.Luce for distinguished and outstanding contribution made in the field of politics and development. Sir St Luce served as the St. John’s City East Member of Parliament from 1976 to 2004.

Mr. Elton Martin: Distinguished contribution in the field of law enforcement. Commander, The Most Illustrious Order of Merit (CM)

Mr. Gilbert Laudat: Distinguished contribution to cultural development. Officer, The Most Precious Order of Princely Heritage (OH)

Mrs. Barbara Gore-Charles: Distinguished contribution to technical, Vocational Education and Training. Officer, The Most Illustrious Order of Merit (OM)

Dr. Radcliffe Robins:  Distinguished contribution made in the field of veterinary medicine. Officer, The Most Illustrious Order of Merit (OM)

Mrs. Ada Mae Elizabeth Sheppard-Johnson: Distinguished contribution to technical, education and training. Officer, The Most Illustrious Order of Merit (OM)

Ms. Dulcie Wynter-King: Distinguished contribution to education and community development. Officer, The Most Illustrious Order of Merit (OM)

Sgt Veldon Ragguette: Distinguished contribution to law enforcement, humanitarian and social development. Officer, The Most Precious Order of Princely Heritage (OH)

Mr. Charles Alphonso Jarvis Distinguished contribution in the field of Sports and development. Officer, The Most Precious Order of Princely Heritage (OH)

Ms. Valerie Gonsalves-Barriero: Distinguished contribution in the field of community development. Member, The Most Illustrious Order of Merit (MM)
