With the assistance of Pastor Henry of Barbuda and the Barbuda Council Chairperson Kncyntar Nedd, Eye Mobile Vision Care assisted the Barbuda Community by providing thirty individuals who either lost or damaged their eye-wear during the passage of Hurricane Irma with free eye examinations and a new pair of glasses.
Annushka Andrew, Operations Manager at EMVC said Eye Mobile Vision Care customarily assist the Antiguan community with the provision of free screenings and eye examinations, however, this time they had to step up their humanitarian services to assist Barbudans facing a crisis.
The individuals were contacted by the EMVC office and persons came in and received their comprehensive digital eye exams, selected a frame of their choice and complete glasses were delivered to the patients.
“We are delighted that we could partner in this endeavor with the Barbudans as it’s imperative that they can function normally whilst they attempt to continue the rebuilding efforts of the rest of their lives” Andrew continued.
Early last month when a representative of EMVC at the launch of the Z Cup Gulf Tournament of which they are a title sponsor reveled their willingness to assist those facing disaster said they will be looking into assisting displaced Dominicans who face the same challenges as our fellow Barbudans as they continue their humanitarian efforts.
