Team Antigua set off in the Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge

Team Antigua has set off with the fleet of rowers in the Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge.

The race’s starting date was pushed back from December 12 to December 14 due to extreme weather in San Sebastián La Gomera.

The team is rowing the Atlantic representing Antigua and Barbuda to raise funds to create a properly managed marine protected area in English Harbour, Antigua, and to help where possible in Barbuda following Hurricane Irma.

Eli Fuller, John Watt, Nico Psihoyos and Scott Potter are the members of Team Antigua. In the last 24 hours, Team Antigua have maintained their second place position in the race behind the Four Oursmen and have so far rowed 75 nautical miles in the Atlantic.

An update on the team’s Facebook page from skipper Eli Fuller said “Zero wind and choppy. Blisters on all our feet. Sore and tired but so eh go.”

As of 7:35 am the team has 2500 nm more to row to make their way home to the Nelson’s Dockyard.
